  • Rumor Rater: Bryan Mbuemo to Manchester United

    Reliability:

David Ornstein comes as close to official as any news breaker can be. When backed up by the illustrious Fabrizio Romano, you can be sure that the “rumor” is real and that interest is firm

    10/10

    Possibility:

Brentford FC are one of the most famous clubs in the world for their player trading efficiency. After 6 years of development, Mbuemo performed as one of the best forwards in the Premier league this season and with 2 years left on his contract this would be selling high. Manchester United are heavily in the market for fitter, stronger attacking players to improve on their current crop. After securing the signature of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, at least 1 more “starter” level signing is needed and Mbuemo fits the bill.

    9/10

    Fit:

Under Ruben Amorim, Manchester United set out strictly in a 3-4-3 formation with 2 inside forwards. Given Mbuemo was playing in the exact same system at Brentford in many matches over the last few years, his integration should be seamless. With both the power to drive the ball up the middle and the skill to control it out wide, Mbuemo is a versatile attacker that should greatly improve United’s threat from the inside right channel.
